IFA – a easy to operate and cost effective solution


IFA serves for the analysis of open interference fringes of interferograms. The system was developed as alternative of difficult and complicated solutions and is ideally suited for the employment in practice. IFA is a low-cost and easy to handle software, which includes all of the mostly used functions of data evaluation.
The hard- and software components of IFA reperesents the state of the art. The software runs with all current windows operating systems, the video signal will be digitalized and evaluated in real-time optionally via a USB-connected camera or a VHS- resp. SVHS-camera with frame grabber.

Retrofitting of interferometers with IFA



IFA can be used for the retrofitting of all kinds of interferometers. The only demand is, that a CCD-camera can be adapted to the interferometer or that the interferometer is already equipped with a CCD-camera. IFA can be used with all interferometers, which already have a video monitor. The software provides you a comfortable one-monitor solution because the live video image appears in real-time with excellent quality on the PC screen, so an additional video monitor is not necessary. After setting up the parameters one time the software computes the wave front aberration including the PV-value and other parameters automatically. Even if IFA was thought as simple solution it contains the all of the most necessary functions for the optical manufacturing.

 - creation and storage of different rectangular and circular measuring range templates for different specimen

 - wave front approximation by Zernicke-polynoms  (in US- and Europe style)

 - free configurable measuring records

 - free graphical 3D-representation of the wave front aberration

 - any section through the 3D-representation in x- and y-direction

 - readout and printout of the measuring values, measuring records and graphical representations

 - storage and printout of interference images

 - numerous data operations available

 - interface to other applications via the windows clipboard and ASCII-Files


System requirements



 - IBM compatible PC with processor Pentium III or higher

 - Operating system Windows 98, 2000, XP

 - RAM >= 32 MB (using Windows 2000/XP >= 128MB recommended)

 - graphical resolution >= 800x600 pixel with >= 256 colors (recommended 1024x768 pixel with 16bit color depth)

 - free hard disk space of 8 MB

 - a free PCI-slot for the frame grabber when using a PAL-, NTSC- or S-VHS-video signal or

 - a free USB2.0-connection when using a USB-camera
